LIFT-UŽ COMPLETES LU11 RAMP RETRO FIT ON AN ORION VII
On October 11, 2007, LIFT-U completed a retrofit of the LU11 “Fold Out Plus” reduced slope low floor bus ramp on an Orion VII transit bus. The bus belongs to the Sacramento Regional Transit District and the installation was performed at LIFT-U’s manufacturing facility in Escalon, CA. The retrofit was documented step by step by LIFT-U’s engineering staff from removal of the existing ramp to the completed LU11 installation, including the electrical interface. Sacramento’s Director of Maintenance, Ned Fox was excited to offer the safety improved 1:6 slope to their riders as well as the maintenance friendly benefits of the LU11 to their mechanics.

LIFT-UŽ IS RECEIVING ORDERS ON THE NEW LU11 RAMP
According to Steve Reichmuth, LIFT-U’s Assistant General Manager, “We anticipate production line conversion from the LU6 to the new LU11 to be completed by the end of first quarter 2008. LIFT-U will still offer product support on the LU6 in an aftermarket capacity”. New LU11 orders have been received from the Gillig Corporation and ElDorado National to supply ramps for Sky Harbor Airport and cities of Flagstaff, Indianapolis, Vail, Jacksonville and Tucson to name a few.
